300-Ton Grain Drying Tower (India)

Installation of a 300-ton continuous grain dryer in India is complete; featuring biomass pellet heating and a superconducting tube-bundle furnace, it boosts food security with high energy efficiency!

Recently, the 300-ton continuous grain dryer designed and manufactured by our company for an Indian grain processing enterprise successfully completed on-site installation and commissioning. It passed customer acceptance testing on the first attempt and has officially entered production. This equipment will be used for the large-scale drying of various grains—such as rice, wheat, and corn—providing robust support for local bulk grain storage and processing in India.

【Equipment Overview】

This model is a continuous tower-type grain dryer featuring a vertical, multi-layer structure. Grain flows continuously from top to bottom, drying layer by layer. Suitable for large-scale, round-the-clock continuous operation, it is an ideal drying solution for large grain depots and processing enterprises.

【Key Specifications】

Equipment Name: Continuous Grain Dryer

Dimensions (L × W × H): 3150 × 3650 × 28500 mm

Structure Type: Continuous

Processing Capacity: 300 tons/day

Drying Sections: 9

Tempering Sections: 5

Cooling Section: 1

Effective Volume: 178.6 m³

Hot Air Temperature Range: 45 – 160°C (Adjustable)

Total Motor Power: 139.7 kW

Heat Source: Fuel Oil / Gas / Coal / Biomass Pellets (This unit utilizes biomass pellets)

【Superconducting Tube-Bundle Furnace: Significant Energy-Saving Advantages】

The unit is equipped with our proprietary superconducting tube-bundle heat-exchange furnace, fueled by biomass pellets. This furnace employs a multi-pass tube-bundle heat exchange structure, offering a large heat exchange area and high heat absorption efficiency; it achieves over 20% greater energy savings compared to traditional furnaces. Biomass pellets burn thoroughly with minimal ash residue. Paired with an automatic screw feeder and variable-frequency air blower, the system ensures stable hot air temperatures and rapid response, providing a continuous, powerful heat source for the drying process.

【Drying Process and Performance】

The system features an alternating arrangement of nine drying sections and five tempering sections. Grain undergoes a continuous cycle of heating, tempering, and reheating within the tower, effectively relieving internal stress and significantly reducing the rates of kernel cracking and breakage. A dedicated cooling section lowers the grain temperature to safe storage levels, allowing for immediate binning without the need for additional cooling or staging time. Field tests confirm that the dried grain exhibits uniform moisture content, natural color, and stable quality, fully complying with Indian grain procurement and storage standards.

【Installation and Service】

Our technical team successfully overcame the challenges associated with installing a tower standing 28,500 mm tall, completing the hoisting, assembly, and commissioning of the entire unit in just 25 days. Prior to handover, the system underwent a 72-hour continuous full-load trial run, with all performance metrics exceeding contractual specifications. The client remarked: "The 300-ton daily processing capacity is impressive; the superconducting furnace offers remarkable energy efficiency, and the local availability of biomass fuel has significantly reduced our overall operating costs."

The equipment is now fully operational, providing robust processing capacity for local paddy and corn drying during the rainy season and enabling the client to scale up their grain operations.

Continuous Grain Dryer—High capacity, low energy consumption, and versatile application.
