Installation of 30-ton grain dryer in Colombia completed.

30-Ton Stationary Grain Dryer Installed in Colombia: High-Efficiency Drying for Waxy and Standard Corn Using LPG!

We recently completed the on-site installation and commissioning of a 30-ton stationary recirculating grain dryer designed and manufactured for a client in Colombia; the unit passed the client's acceptance inspection on the first attempt. This equipment will be used to dry both waxy corn and standard corn, providing a highly efficient, stable, and clean drying solution for local corn cultivation and processing operations.

【Equipment Overview】

This model is a stationary recirculating grain dryer featuring a vertical tower structure. It ensures a uniform and gentle drying process with a low rate of kernel stress cracking (checking), making it particularly suitable for drying large-grain crops like corn.

【Key Specifications】

Equipment Name: Recirculating Grain Dryer

Dimensions (L × W × H): 3600 × 3600 × 8500 mm

Batch Capacity: 30 tons/day

Effective Volume: 55 m³

Hot Air Temperature Range: 40–150°C (adjustable)

Number of Hot Air Fans: 1 unit

Total Installed Power: 22.7 kW

Heat Source Options: Coal, oil, natural gas, LPG, or biomass pellets (this unit utilizes LPG)

【Drying Process and Results】

The dryer employs a low-temperature recirculating drying process. Grain circulates within the tower and is heated evenly, effectively preventing issues such as scorching, stress cracking, or nutrient loss caused by localized overheating. To address the high viscosity and drying difficulty of waxy corn, the equipment combines precise temperature control with a tempering phase, ensuring a golden color and consistent quality. For standard corn, the system offers higher efficiency and robust throughput. Field tests confirm excellent moisture uniformity in the dried corn, fully meeting local storage and processing standards.

【Flexible Heat Source; Clean and Efficient LPG Combustion】

The unit comes standard with interfaces for multiple heat sources, allowing compatibility with various fuels such as coal, oil, natural gas, LPG, and biomass pellets. Taking local energy conditions in Colombia into account, the client selected liquefied gas as the heat source and opted for imported burners, ensuring high thermal efficiency, stable heating power, and rapid temperature rise. Liquefied gas combustion is clean and eco-friendly—producing neither black smoke nor dust—thereby eliminating the need for additional dust removal equipment and significantly reducing both environmental compliance investments and O&M costs.

[Installation and Service]

Our company completed the installation and commissioning (including trial runs with actual material) of the entire unit in just 12 days via email and video guidance. A continuous 12-hour full-load trial run was conducted prior to handover, with drying results fully meeting the standards stipulated in the contract. The client commented: "The installation process was highly professional, the drying performance exceeded expectations, and the liquefied gas heat source is both clean and hassle-free!"

The equipment is now fully operational, capable of processing 30 tons of waxy and regular corn daily, thereby providing a reliable safeguard for the client's corn storage and handling during the rainy season.

Recirculating Grain Dryer—High capacity, versatile heat source options, and broad applicability.
